Why is Ultrasound Calibration necessary?
Ultrasound calibration has the main advantage of maintaining measurement accuracy, standardization, and repeatability, which results in reliable standard output. Without routine calibration, the equipment can occasionally go out of specification, which leads to providing inaccurate measurements and jeopardizing quality, safety, and equipment longevity. The instruments used for diagnostic testing must be kept in good working order and must undergo routine calibration at least once a year. All ultrasound equipment must go through maintenance at least once a year, or more frequently if problems arise, as per the manufacturer's instructions. Setting up an instrument to produce results for samples that fall within a reasonable range is part of the calibration process.
